Keyworker info from 30.03.20

LK

We have today been told by our insurers that they are unlikely to pay out on our business interruption insurance as the Government has not ordered the complete shut down of nurseries.

We must therefore turn to the Government furlough scheme recently announced by the Chancellor to support businesses through the Coronavirus. Under this scheme, we are able to put staff on a temporary leave of absence and the Government will pay 80% of their wages indefinitely.

We have decided that from next week we will be consolidating the key worker children from all three nurseries at our Longlevens nursery. It is not financially viable to keep open each of the nurseries with so few children. I understand that this may cause difficulties for some, but we are doing all we can to keep spaces for those keyworkers who really need them. I remind you all that the government advise is that if children can possibly be at home they should be. We will ensure that there will be staff from all 3 nurseries to care for the children.

Please keep me informed of any changes at [email protected] Letters will go out to all who changes effect by the end of the week.

Thank you again for your support at this difficult time.
