Longlevens May News letter

LH

The sun is shining !

Well it looks like we are finally seeing some sunny weather ! A polite reminder that all children will need to be sun creamed on hot days before coming to nursery and they will need a named sunhat. Please take a look at our sun care policy in your tapestry documents and the nhs advice for suncare.https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/h...

School allocation

Parents of children who will be starting school in September 21 should have received a letter or email advising of your child's school allocation. If you are unhappy with your allocated school you will need to let them know by the 23rd April. You will be notified of the appeals in July.

Please can you let us know what school your child has been allocated so we can make a list so you can see what other children will be attending the same school. We will also contact all the schools and send off transition records  at the beginning of July. These transition records will give the school a base line of where your child is at relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You will be able to see the transition records before they get sent off and you can  add your comments to them. Normally the school will also contact you with information of settling in sessions before they start school but I am not sure how this will be achieved this year with the challenges of Covid-19 . Hopefully we will hear soon.

All children who are booked into Preschool are booked in until August 31st. a months notice will be needed if you would like your child to finish before this date. From September 1st your free government funding goes straight to your child's school. We will be holding a graduation party for our school leavers and when we have finalised the plans we will let you know.

Staffing Update

We have welcomed Melissa into our preschool from April. Melissa is covering Laura's maternity leave until January 2022. Melssia has a level 3 in childcare and education and has settled in really well.

We have sadly said goodbye to Jade from our 2-3's but we are currently busy recruiting to replace her. When we have found the perfect person we will let you know. During this time we will be covering with our own nursery staff and bank staff who our 2-3's are already familiar with.

We have welcomed back Maz to our 1-2's group and Joan our lunch time supervisor after a year of shielding. Its so lovely to have Maz and Joan back with us.

Menu update

Donna has been busy composing our new spring / summer menu's along side the guidance from the "eat better, start better " program we follow.

The menus will be displayed in the windows of the main house and bungalow so you can see what we are offering each day. If you have any suggestions for meals  please feel free to email me or send through on tapestry.
