Quedgeley Newsletter - September 2020

Here we are again it’s September and we have said goodbye to another group of children to school. Thank you for all the lovely cards and gifts :) Our priority over the last few months was to settle the children back into nursery and ensure their days at nursery were happy and secure.  The children have settled back into nursery life really well and have enjoyed lots of different activities, playing with their friends and enjoying the sunny weather. Over the next couple of months each age group will be focusing on the following:

Babies & 1-2s - Autumn Crafts & Sensory Trays

2-3's - Superheros - Hiding and finding action figures & Large construction - Making large constructions out of recycled items, such as a box and turning it into a bus. Children are also showing an interest in potty training and lots of stories are being read around this and encouraging children to sit on the potty at nappy changing times.

Pre-school - Autumn Topic and Health & Self-Care - focusing on children's independent skills, taking themselves to the toilet, washing hands, wiping their own nose/face, doing up zips.

Daily Diaries & Observations - Now that we are back to some more normality we have resumed doing monthly observations on children that will inform our Early Years Foundation Stage Planning.  Unfortunately this does mean that the daily diaries might not be as detailed/long as before. If you have any questions there is a message option on the care diary that you can use to communicate with your child's key person or the room leader.

Congratulations to Yvonne who is expecting her first baby in December. Yvonne will be on maternity leave from the 12th November.

Goodbye - We have said goodbye to Nicky as she decided to concentrate on her cakes & bakes business, we would like to wish her all the best for the future.  We are currently in the process of recruiting somebody for the position.

Menus - We have reviewed our menus if you would like a copy of the new menus please e-mail [email protected] and we can send you a copy.

Up and Coming Events: Halloween Day – Friday 30th October / Guy Fawkes – Thurs 5th November / Children In Need – Friday 13th November (Wear Pyjamas & bring a donation)
