Update 20th July

LK

Hello everyone

I cannot believe it is 20th July and the start of the summer holidays for those of us who have children at school. It really has been a roller coaster of a couple of months!! Now is the time we would normally be hosting our famous graduation ceremonies to say goodbye to those pre-school children, who are leaving us for school. The usual format is obviously not possible under the current restrictions, but all 3 nurseries will be marking the occasion in their own way.

From today, we no longer need to keep the children in 'bubbles', but wherever possible we will be keeping them in their year groups- under twos, 2-3s and pre-schoolers. It will enable us to limit their contact with all children, but give everyone more flexibility and allow the children to be able to play with all of their friends. Through August we will remain open 8am to 5.30pm, but from September will go back to our usual opening hours of 7.30am-6pm. For those who usually have breakfast with us, toast and cereal will be available in the play rooms. We have decided to keep taking the children from you at the door to limit the amount of people in and out of the nurseries. From September, unless you have been in contact to make changes, all children will revert to the sessions that had previously been arranged. All payments will revert to fees due from the price increase in April 2020. Everyone should have been given a contract before we closed. If your child is eligible for the Free for 3 and 4 or under 2s government grant, Sam will have or will  be in touch shortly.

Sam has worked tirelessly throughout the lockdown and this week is taking a well deserved break, so any urgent enquires should be forwarded to Liz, myself or the nursery managers who will endeavour to sort it out. Sam will be back on 27th July, if queries can wait till then.

We are absolutely delighted that from 1st August we have the majority of our staff back from the Job Retention Scheme. I would like to thank all the girls , who have been working so hard since we reopened to get the nurseries back on their feet again.

I wish you all a lovely summer and hope you have a great time if you have plans to go away. Liz and I are so grateful for your support in what has been a difficult time for Chestnuts and we all look forward to happier times ahead.

Kind regards

Lucy
