Update 21st May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

Liz and I have met with managers and deputy managers at all the nursery sites and together we have come up with operational plans for the reopen of the nurseries on 1st June . The plans for each nursery are similar, but we have thought carefully about the use of individual rooms at the nurseries and how each one would operate. We are confident that we can run the nursery with the highest standards of safety and hygiene, whilst the children continue to have a great time with lots of fun and rewarding experiences. We have decided to keep the children in their own little bubbles throughout the day and will do all we can to ensure that they are with some of their good friends, wherever possible. The only way we can do this is to shorten the nursery day, slightly, to 8am to 5.30pm so your child can be with the same member of staff all day. We will also only be able to take children who only attend one setting. If your child is due to return on 1st June, a member of staff will be in contact in the next couple of days to discuss these arrangements with you and find out what times would suit.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we adapt to these new times. There may be queues, but please try and adhere to social distancing rules. We may have to tweak the systems to make them more efficient- so please bear with us.

We’ve obviously put a huge emphasis on hygiene and safety, but also wanted to reassure you that we will be continuing to make Chestnuts the loving and warm environment that your child has been used to, and we will also be ensuring they continue to have exciting and educational experiences. The most heart-warming thing for us has been the excitement of the staff to get back to work. They have genuinely missed the children and cannot wait to help bring a little bit of normality back to all our lives.

Kind regards

Lucy and Liz

The plans will be posted separately
