Update 29th May 2020

LK

Hello

It's been a really busy couple of weeks, but we are all ready and very excited for the reopening of the Chestnuts Day Nurseries on Monday. I would like to thank all the girls who have worked really hard making their bubbles welcoming and fun as well as safe for the children's return. Becki, Michelle and Lynda, our managers, have done a wonderful job working out who is coming back and organising them into their bubble groups. This has not been an easy task, so I thank them for their patience. Sam has been working around the clock, calculating fees for June, again not a straight forward task. As soon as we have sorted those returning in June, we will begin contacting everyone who is due to return in July. Please bear with us, and we will get to you as soon as we can. All in all, it has been a huge undertaking, but with everyone's hard work- we are all ready to see you all again Monday morning!!!

Like everything else at the moment, nursery will not be quite the same as it used to be and the girls just wanted me to remind those returning next week of a few things.

Children will need to have had breakfast before they arrive and parents must apply a sun cream that will keep them protected for all of the time they are at nursery. Please try and keep to your allocated time slot and observe social distancing when queuing in the car park. A member of staff will take your child at the door and no parents will be allowed into the nursery premises. We know some children will be upset at this change, but as usual staff will do all they can to comfort them, and if they really do not settle we will contact you. Could children bring a change of clothes and a sun hat in a named plastic bag and this will remain at nursery. Finally, could you inform us of any changes to routines or information we need to know through tapestry and ensure that we have up to date contact details. If these have changed they can be emailed to the office.

We have worked really hard on the plans to reopen, but please bear with us. As I have said many times, these are unprecedented times and we may have to tweak our plans. I am confident though, that despite everything, with the dedication of our teams Chestnuts will continue to be the caring, nurturing and fun environment it has always been.

See you all soon!!!

Lucy
